Isnad: The Voice That Resonates in Generosity

By Dr. Salwa Hassan Siddig

(“As I stand and ponder”), as the poet of Al-Butana, Al-Bushra, wrote in his poem “Birthday.” I remembered her, a small seedling once, and then marvelled at how she grew from nothing in unfamiliar soil. We arrived torn apart, carrying fragments of souls yet to grasp what had occurred. Yet, she sprouted and stood tall, impressing all who saw her until she bore fruit abundantly, season after season.
When you enter Isnad, you feel secure. You’re greeted warmly by Amira, Naima, Afaf, Lamia, Mona, Asma, Suhad, and others—young women like the birds of paradise. Their smiles, tenderness, and boundless volunteerism radiate giving.
Isnad is the masculine source and the feminine act. A truly Sudanese initiative, adorned in its traditional attire, henna-stained hands completing its charm. The Arab League opened its institutions to her, thanks to the founder, Ambassador Kamal Hassan Ali, granting her entry through the grandest of doors: (“Enter Egypt, if God wills, in safety.”)
Then came successive breakthroughs: the Egyptian Food Bank, Toshiba Al-Arabi, and countless other institutions, hospitals, schools, and organizations. The monitoring and statistics department at the flourishing Isnad keeps track of what many of us cannot begin to comprehend.
Her reach extends far and wide. Isnad has touched Morocco, collaborating with the Arab Organization for Education, Culture, and Science (ISESCO), fostering peace and harmony through the efforts of Director Amira Al-Fadil. Meanwhile, artist Ali Mahdi traveled as her ambassador, spreading her message and support, turning Isnad into a miniature Sudan—a hub for legal professionals, intellectuals, entrepreneurs, and service providers of every stripe.
Isnad has sheltered, fed, clothed, healed, and educated. Her accomplishments rival the ministries of some nations. Trusting in God, she accepted the challenge and became a refuge for the Sudanese people—a gathering place in Egypt, a land of safety.
Isnad is a compass for the lost, a haven for those in need. Like the famous “Wesf Li” group on social media, she is the address for those who have none. Her efforts have spared many Sudanese the humiliation of begging at embassies or on the streets. With branches across Egypt and a leadership dedicated to personalized care, Isnad operates as a comprehensive service gateway.
During the organization’s recent winter clothing campaign, Emad Al-Sinousi, president of the Electronic Press Association, addressed a press conference alongside others, discussing ways to enhance donations. Before leaving, he left his mark with a one-million Sudanese pound donation, may God accept it. Such generosity fuels Isnad’s vibrant work, ensuring her well never runs dry as long as Sudan’s humble and resilient sons and daughters support her.
Do you see now, dear readers, how God blesses pure intentions? Isnad is a blessing; let’s bless her further. Contribute to the Warm Winter Campaign—good awaits your support. Don’t let it pass without partaking in her grace.
