Gezira Governor Directs the Launches of Saudi Grant Project to Drill 25 Boreholes

The Governor of Al Jazirah State, Al-Tahir Ibrahim Al-Khair, announced the government’s commitment to overcoming obstacles facing the implementation of the Saudi-funded project to drill 25 groundwater wells in the state.

During a meeting held this morning (Sunday) at his office with a delegation from the Dams Implementation Unit, headed by Engineer Badr El-Din Mohammed Abdullah, Director General of the unit, the governor directed the immediate commencement of work on nine wells and the identification of 16 additional wells for the next phase. He also emphasized the importance of focusing on water harvesting projects and integrated water stations.

For his part, Engineer Abu Bakr Abdullah, Director General of the Ministry of Urban Planning, Housing, and Public Utilities and Acting Minister, affirmed the ministry’s readiness to implement the project in cooperation with the executing companies ahead of the rainy season.
