Family Planning Launches a Platform for Reproductive Health Services

The Sudanese Family Planning Association announced the launch of a new electronic platform to provide reproductive health services by calling the unified number 1700 on all networks.

The association’s executive director, Al-Shafi’ Muhammad Ali, said in press statements on Friday, that the platform enables women, men, and youth inside and outside Sudan.

To access a range of vital services, including reproductive health services, medical consultations, and comprehensive health support.

He added that the services, in addition to that, include responding to gender-based violence, by providing psychological and legal support to those affected, in addition to video call services that provide the possibility of obtaining remote consultations safely and confidentially.

Al-Shafi’i added that the project aims to enhance access to reproductive health services in various regions, especially those affected by the current situation, pointing out that it supports the most affected groups such as women and youth by providing comprehensive health consultations that help meet their needs.

The support includes psychological and legal consultations, and contributes to strengthening the national health system in cooperation with the Ministry of Health and international partners, to ensure the continuity of providing health services despite the challenges.

The Executive Director of the Sudanese Family Planning Association explained that the project seeks to overcome the geographical and practical restrictions imposed by the current conflict by providing innovative health services using technology such as video calls, expressing his hope that this project will contribute to mitigating the effects of the current crisis and improving the quality of life for citizens.

He added that the project comes as part of the association’s commitment to supporting the rights of individuals to access comprehensive health services, responding to the increasing humanitarian needs in Sudan, and supporting the intensive efforts made by the Federal Ministry of Health and state ministries to strengthen the health system affected by the war.
