The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Energy, Ali Abd, revealed that the ministry has increased daily fuel supplies to three times their normal levels to ensure a stable supply and ease congestion at fuel stations across the country.

During a meeting at his office on Monday with the Governor of White Nile State, Lieutenant General Qamar al-Din Mohamed Fadl al-Mawla, the undersecretary directed that the provision of electricity transformers be expedited and that the flow of petroleum products to the state be ensured.

The meeting discussed accelerating procedures to provide electricity transformers and secure the state’s fuel allocations. The Electricity Sector was also directed to expedite the completion of procedures related to transformers for White Nile State.

For his part, the governor outlined the damage sustained by the state as a result of attacks by the militia, explaining that approximately 55 distribution transformers, with capacities ranging from 200 to 500 kVA, had been destroyed.

The governor affirmed that the state was working to secure electricity supplies for agricultural projects. He also noted the current increase in fuel demand and called for the state’s allocated fuel quotas to be supplied regularly.

Meanwhile, the Director-General of the Electricity Distribution Company, Montaser Al-Sheikh, said procedures for supplying transformers to several states were underway in coordination with the Ministry of Finance. The process includes White Nile, Khartoum, and Gezira states.
