Chairman of the Sovereign Council Sends Message to Russian President

The Chairman of the Transitional Sovereign Council and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, sent a letter of thanks and appreciation to Russian President Vladimir Putin concerning the enhancement and development of bilateral relations and the advancement of mutual cooperation between the two countries.

According to a statement released by the media office of the Transitional Sovereign Council, the Chairman of the Sovereign Council received the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Sudan, Ambassador Andrei Chernyshov, at his office (on Sunday) and handed him the letter.

In his letter, the Chairman of the Sovereign Council expressed the Sudanese government’s and people’s appreciation for President Putin’s unwavering support for Sudan.

General al-Burhan also referenced Russia’s recent veto in the UN Security Council regarding Sudan, describing it as a noble stance that would strengthen and solidify the relations between the two countries and push them toward broader horizons.
