Al-Burhan Rules Out Negotiations with Rebels, Vows to Continue “Cleansing” the Country

The Chairman of the Sovereign Council and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, firmly ruled out any negotiations with the rebels and their supporters, affirming that the armed forces will continue to fulfill the expectations of the Sudanese people and rid them of this “nightmare.” He stressed that the campaign to eliminate the rebel militia will continue until the entire country is “cleansed.”

This came during his address at a ceremony honoring the former Chief of Staff and members of the General Staff. Al-Burhan saluted members of the armed forces, other regular forces, supporting units, and all fighters involved in the “Battle of Dignity.”

He praised the journey of former commanders, commending their contributions and their growing heroic roles in defending the dignity and pride of Sudan and its people. He noted that they set outstanding examples of patience and resilience under conditions of siege and bombardment, rising to the level of responsibility and challenge.

The Commander-in-Chief affirmed that the path of dedication within the armed forces will continue along the same course, marked by the blood and sacrifices of the Sudanese people.

For his part, Sovereign Council member and Chief of Staff, General Yasser Abdelrahman Al-Atta, stated that those honored embodied courage and heroism, standing united in the darkest circumstances as a shield for the nation, and playing a significant role in the armed forces’ victories across various regions. He also pledged to continue the path of victory until reaching Um Dafug and Blue Nile, saluting fighters on all fronts.

The honors included former Chief of Staff General Mohamed Othman Al-Hussein, former General Staff members General Magdi Ibrahim Othman and Lieutenant General Engineer Khaled Abdeen Mohamed Ahmed Al-Shami, in addition to the former Air Defense Forces Commander, Lieutenant General Engineer Omar Sar Al-Khatim.
