The Chairman of the Transitional Sovereignty Council and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, reiterated the state’s position on the issue of negotiating with rebels, stating, “There will be no negotiations or return to the Jeddah platform until the terrorist militia is eliminated, defeated, and weapons are collected.” He emphasised the Armed Forces’ determination to cleanse the country of outlaws and strive to achieve security, stability, and peace, saying, “The Armed Forces and joint forces will continue to fight the militia everywhere.” He praised the Sudanese people for rallying behind their Armed Forces and stressed that they would seek “the opinion of the Sudanese people on all matters related to peace and negotiations.”
The Chairman of the Sovereignty Council and Commander-in-Chief paid tribute to the martyrs of the Armed Forces and the martyrs of the Battle of Dignity, who sacrificed their lives to preserve the gains, unity, security, and stability of Sudan and safeguard its sovereignty. He said, “We will continue to follow the path of the martyrs, as this is our duty and obligation, and there will be no retreat until the terrorist rebel militia is eliminated and the country is finally liberated from the filth of rebellion, mercenaries, and traitors. We will confront all conspiracies against Sudan aimed at undermining its unity and dignity.”
These statements came as Al-Burhan addressed a gathering of citizens in the Al-Basabeer area (west of Shendi) on Monday while performing his duty of offering condolences to the family of the martyr, Major Malah Abazar Balola.
The Commander-in-Chief also offered condolences for the first martyr of the Battle of Dignity at the General Command, Sergeant Abdel Halim Gadallah Basbar, who was martyred on April 15, 2023, while defending the symbol of sovereignty and the unity of the Armed Forces and Sudan.
