Port Sudan – Sudanhorizon – Special
Dr. Bahr Idris Abu Garda, head of the Sudan Justice Alliance, said that the Sudanese national political forces that participated in the preparatory meetings in Addis Ababa last week “are moving towards establishing a new national bloc to enter the elections that follow the transitional phase, with a clear and convincing national program to rebuild the country in a record period, after the devastation caused by the war.”
Bahr added in a special statement to the Almohagig and Sudanhorizon news websites: “We all agreed that the next prime minister and the government to be formed must be composed of national competencies, far from all parties,” adding: “We all agreed as parties and national forces, even the non-political one, to stand with the government of national competencies to be formed and support it, just as we stand with and support the armed forces.
More than 14 political and civil blocs met in the Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa, during the period between the tenth and fifteenth of this July, under the auspices of the African Union, to discuss the preliminary steps that would lead to a comprehensive Sudanese-Sudanese dialogue, according to which the future of the political process in Sudan would be determined.
The Addis Ababa meetings, which were monitored by representatives of the European Union and the United States of America, led to a road map for the planned dialogue and recommended to the Transitional Sovereignty Council that it form a government with a civilian prime minister to manage the civil aspects of the country as a priority at the current stage.
