Member of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, Salah Al-Din Adam Tor, on Tuesday chaired a joint coordination meeting between the Northern State Government and the State Security Committee, attended by the Northern State Governor, Lt. Gen. Abdul Rahman Abdul Hamid.
Tor received a detailed briefing on the security, economic, and service-related conditions in the state, particularly amid the influx of displaced people from El Fasher and the importance of providing them with essential and urgent humanitarian and medical services, in addition to the state’s preparedness for the winter season.
He praised the significant efforts undertaken by the state government to deliver humanitarian aid to the displaced and provide moral support to those affected across all states, sheltering them after they were psychologically and economically devastated by the “terrorist Rapid Support Forces militia.”
He stated that the war was imposed on the Sudanese people and is a fully staged conspiracy, but it has unified the Sudanese people and strengthened national cohesion, with everyone rallying around the armed forces and supporting troops. He stressed the need to utilize this unity to rebuild Sudan anew.
The Sovereignty Council member described what is happening at the Al-Afafad displacement camp in Al-Dabba locality as a “national epic” in which all segments of the Sudanese people have come together, forming a safety valve for promoting development, stability, and the achievement of peace.
He recommended giving priority to education and health as key pillars of sustainable development, combating all forms of corruption, and unifying efforts to counter hate speech in order to consolidate national unity.
