The US Advisor for African Affairs, Mussad Boulos, has condemned the attack launched by the Rapid Support Forces militia on the only remaining hospital in El Fasher, the capital of besieged North Darfur state.

In a tweet posted on his official X account, Boulos saidh he condemns the attack reportedly carried out by the Rapid Support Forces on the last remaining hospital in besieged El Fasher and a nearby mosque in North Darfur, El Fasher, which resulted in the killing and wounding of civilians, including doctors and nurses, in an area where humanitarian access remains restricted.

Boulos added that there was no justification for targeting places of worship, hospitals, and civilians.

The statement refers to the attack on a mosque in El Fasher that killed more at least 75 people and wounded dozens earlier this month. It also referred to an attack on an shelter complex and an attack on Saturday that killed patients and children.

Boulos expressed his regret that the conflict has continued for too long, resulting in the daily loss of innocent lives through attacks and famine.
The US official stressed the need for the warring parties to realize that there is no military solution and to work to end this conflict.
