River Nile Senior Official: We Shot Down a Swarm of Drones Today

Atbara – Sudanhorizon – Mariam Absher
The anti-aircraft weapons of the security forces in River Nile State thwarted a drone attack launched by the rebel Rapid Support Forces militia, on Thursday, targeting Atbara Airport.
A senior official told the Sudanhorizon news website that the state’s security forces are aware and alert and were able to shoot down all drones without any losses. He noted that the security committee holds regular meetings and is fully performing its duties, warning that all targeting attempts are doomed to failure, God willing.
The official indicated that the drone squadron that attempted to target the city of Atbara and its airport today came from the western Berber region, but that the anti-aircraft weapons were on the lookout. He confirmed that the security situation in the state is stable and that the security forces are in a constant state of readiness, citing the downing of all the militia drones today, despite their large number.
