Port Sudan – Sudanhorizon
On Monday, the Sudanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement expressing Sudan’s support for the Syrian people’s right to assert their will, exercise their legitimate rights, and choose how to manage their affairs.
The statement noted that Sudan has been closely following the recent developments in Syria, its sister country, and the political changes that have emerged in the country.
The statement called on the international community to respect the choices of the Syrian people, support Syria’s unity and sovereignty over its territory, assist in protecting its resources and capabilities, and help restore its regional and international role while resisting external interference in its internal affairs.
Sudan expressed confidence that the Syrian people, along with their political and social forces, will make every effort to seize the real opportunity offered by the political change to strengthen national unity, establish security, peace, and stability, and lay the foundations for social justice across Syria. Sudan reaffirmed its belief that Syria will always remain a beacon of civilization, enlightenment, and goodness.
The statement praised the Syrian people for their complete awareness of the unity and solidarity required during this phase, their rising above division and fragmentation, and their commitment to protecting Syrian state institutions. It assured that Syria will successfully navigate the challenges of transitioning to a new era.
