Sudan-Turkey Discussions in the Health Sector

Sudanese Health Minister Dr. Haitham Ibrahim held talks this morning (Saturday) in Istanbul with his Turkish counterpart, Minister of Health Kamel Memişoğlu, in the presence of Sudanese Deputy Ambassador to Turkey, Ambassador Afaf Mohammedani.
The Sudanese minister stated that the meeting addressed the health and humanitarian situation in Sudan, as well as the attacks by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), which have targeted civilians, services, and institutions.
He added that the discussions focused on aspects of the joint agreement between the Sudanese and Turkish Ministries of Health, ways to advance and activate this cooperation, and the opportunities for reconstruction after the war. The talks also highlighted Turkey’s anticipated role in establishing and rehabilitating hospitals and factories, drawing on its past experiences in Sudan.
The Sudanese Health Minister affirmed that Turkish authorities pledged to review Sudan’s requirements and consider including them in programs to rebuild what the war has destroyed and contribute to saving Sudan’s health sector.
