Omdurman – Sudanhorizon
Four civilians died, and at least 30 others, most of them children, were injured after a rocket bombardment by the terrorist Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia during Taraweeh prayers on Sunday evening in the area of Al-Thawra Al-Gharbiya of Omdurman.
The Governor of Khartoum, Ahmed Osman Hamza, accompanied by several state officials, oversaw the evacuation of the injured to Al-Naw Hospital. The hospital staff, led by its director, Dr. Jamal Al-Tayeb, made significant efforts to provide emergency care and save the victims.
Khartoum State media reported that the Governor condemned the militia’s targeting of innocent civilians and offered condolences to the families of the victims, who filled the hospital’s emergency department. Commenting on the incident, he said, “Whenever the militia is defeated on the battlefield, it resorts to retaliating against civilians.”
The Director-General of the Ministry of Health and acting Minister, Dr Fath Al-Rahman Mohamed Al-Amin, stated that the details of the four martyrs included one man, one woman, and two children, with 30 others injured, including 18 children aged between 4 and 12 years.
Dr Fath Al-Rahman condemned the systematic and continuous targeting of unarmed civilians in the densely populated residential areas of the Karari locality by the rebel militia. He described their actions as heinous, particularly their bombardment of civilians during the holy month of Ramadan, which sees heavy movement of citizens in the evening hours in the Karari locality.
