Kigali – Sudanhorizon
The Sudanese national football team delegation has arrived in Kigali, the capital of Rwanda. Led by Mohamed Abdallah “Mazda,” the delegation includes the administrative and technical staff, as well as players selected from clubs that participated in the CAF Confederation Cup and members of the youth national team—winners of the CECAFA U-20 Championship. The team has gathered for a preparatory camp ahead of their upcoming matches against Senegal, part of the qualifying campaign for the Africa Cup of Nations.
The delegation is staying at the “Kigali View” hotel. Following their arrival Wednesday, the players spent the day resting. The team is set to begin its training program,Thursday, with the first session scheduled for 10:00 AM—marking the official start of preparations under the guidance of the technical staff, led by Ghanaian coach Kwesi Appiah.
Mohamed Abdallah “Mazda,” a member of the Sudan Football Association (SFA) board and head of the national team delegation, stated to the SFA media center that Kigali was chosen to host the “Sokoor Al-Jediane” training camp after careful consideration of several factors. He noted that the city’s geographical location and the availability of suitable conditions were among the primary reasons that made Kigali an ideal choice for the camp. Mazda added that the presence of several players from Sudan’s top clubs—who are currently playing in the Rwandan league—was another factor in choosing the Rwandan capital. This makes it easier for them to join the squad, reduces complications regarding travel and participation in training sessions, and, furthermore, Kigali offers an excellent climate.
