Al-Kurmuk Commissioner: 7 Enemy Vehicles Destroyed, 20 Seized in Al-Baraka and Sali Fronts
Cairo – Sudanhorizon – Sabah Musa
Abdel Ati Mohamed Al-Faki, commissioner of Al-Kurmuk in Blue Nile Region, said that militias affiliated with the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement and the Al-Dagalo militia attempted to launch a hostile operation on Tuesday morning along the Al-Baraka and Sali fronts, amid movements in both areas.
In an exclusive statement to Sudanhorizon, Al-Faki confirmed that the Sudanese Armed Forces and their supporting forces had defeated the enemy and inflicted heavy losses. He explained that the operation resulted in the seizure of approximately 20 vehicles and the destruction of more than seven others, in addition to a large number of enemy personnel killed and wounded.
He said the operation took place in forward positions with no civilian population, meaning it had caused no humanitarian consequences or displacement waves. He added that Al-Baraka and Sali are located in very advanced positions toward the administrative capital of Al-Kurmuk.
Al-Faki described the operation as a major blow to the enemy’s core forces, saying it could pave the way for further victories and help expand the security perimeter in the locality.
Meanwhile, the Al-Kurmuk commissioner stated that no voluntary returns to the town had taken place so far.
