Finance, Energy Ministers and CBoS Governor Discuss Petroleum Product Supplies

A high-level meeting bringing together Minister of Finance Dr. Gibril Ibrahim, Minister of Energy Engineer Al-Mu’tasim Ibrahim, and Central Bank of Sudan Governor Amna Mirghani discussed on Sunday in Khartoum the country’s petroleum product supply situation and reviewed the stability of supply operations, ensuring that the needs of vital, service, and productive sectors are met and that fuel supplies remain regular across the states.
The meeting reviewed the current status of petroleum supplies, as well as arrangements for financing the import of petroleum products and coordination among relevant authorities to ensure the smooth flow of import, transportation, and distribution operations in accordance with established plans.
The meeting also discussed the importance of strengthening institutional integration and coordination among the Ministry of Energy, the Ministry of Finance, and the Central Bank of Sudan. This would contribute to addressing challenges that may affect supply operations and supporting the stability of the petroleum products market.
The meeting emphasized the need for continued monitoring and regular follow-up of the petroleum supply situation, as well as ensuring the necessary financing for the timely import of petroleum products. It also stressed the importance of close coordination among the relevant authorities to ensure sustainable supplies and prevent any bottlenecks, thereby supporting economic, productive, and service activities and strengthening the government’s efforts to secure the petroleum product needs of citizens and various sectors.
