Government Approves Higher Education Admission Plan and Policies

The Social and Cultural Development Sector meeting of the Council of Ministers, held today, Wednesday, under the chairmanship of Minister of Education and National Education Dr. Tihami Al-Zein Hajar, approved the admission plan and policies for higher education and scientific research institutions for the 2026-2027 academic year, along with the plan’s implementation phases.

The plan is based on promoting justice and equal opportunities, strengthening data governance, adopting prior verification of secondary school certificates, and adhering to admission capacity limits. It also includes facilitating administrative procedures in the states and ensuring the secure archiving of data belonging to admitted students and graduates.

The sector stressed the need to expand technical and vocational education as a foundation for building human capacities that contribute to reconstruction and development, combating unemployment, and creating job opportunities.
