High-Level General Debate Opens at the UN-GA

The high-level meetings of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly began on Tuesday at UN headquarters in New York.
The Sudanese Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Ambassador Mohieddin pSalem, participated in the opening session of the high-level general debate.
The session was addressed by UN Secretary-General António Guterres and the President of the 81st session of the General Assembly, Khalilur Rahman, in the presence of numerous heads of state and government, ministers, and representatives of member states.
According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the general debate offers member states an opportunity to present their positions on key international issues and to exchange views on strengthening multilateral cooperation and addressing shared challenges.
