Sudan Member in the International Paralympic Committee
Khartoum –Sudanhorizon
Sudan has secured membership in the International Paralympic Committee (IPC), thereby rejoining the global Paralympic movement.
In a press statement, the Sudanese Paralympic Committee announced that this membership represents renewed international recognition of Sudanese Paralympic sports. It lays the groundwork for a new phase aimed at broadening the base of sports participation for people with disabilities, discovering and nurturing talent, elevating the performance of national teams, and strengthening Sudan’s presence in international Paralympic arenas.
The IPC—the global governing body of the Paralympic movement—comprises approximately 200 member organizations. Its membership structure includes national committees that represent the Paralympic movement within their respective countries.
Sudan’s membership provides a significant boost to Paralympic sports in the country, contributing to the development of training, rehabilitation, and international participation programs, while creating greater opportunities for Sudanese athletes with disabilities to represent the nation in international championships and competitions.
