Sudan to Participate in IGAD Extraordinary Foreign Ministers’ Meeting Tomorrow

Sudan will participate tomorrow, Tuesday, in the 74th Extraordinary Session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD), with a delegation headed by Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Muawiya Khalid, Sudanhorizon has learned.

Meanwhile, IGAD Executive Secretary Workneh Gebeyehu received the UN Secretary-General’s Special Envoy for the Horn of Africa, Guang Cong. The two sides discussed ways to strengthen cooperation between IGAD and the United Nations and reaffirmed their commitment to supporting peace and stability in the region.

Gebeyehu welcomed the UN envoy’s participation in the meeting’s deliberations as part of IGAD’s efforts to strengthen coordinated and joint action to address the challenges facing the Horn of Africa.
