Four Companies Selected to Conduct Environmental Impact Assessments in Khartoum

The committee tasked with qualifying companies to conduct environmental impact assessments in Khartoum State has completed its work and announced in a press statement on Friday that four companies have been qualified to work in this field, after they met the required technical and professional requirements.
The list of accredited companies includes Technical Systems Company, Advanced Consulting Company, Mr. Safety Works, and Kashta Company, in accordance with the established criteria.
The Secretary-General of the Higher Council for Environment and Urban and Rural Development in Khartoum State, Ghada Hussein Al-Awad, approved the committee’s findings. This step aims to regulate and develop the environmental consulting market and raise the standard of studies submitted for various projects and activities in the state.
The Director of the General Administration for Environmental Impact Assessment and Licensing, Yusra Awad, confirmed that the four companies are now officially qualified to conduct environmental impact assessments after completing the qualification procedures and ensuring they meet the technical and professional requirements set by the council.
The Higher Council for the Environment issued a tender last May to prequalify companies and consulting firms interested in preparing environmental impact assessment studies. This initiative is part of the Council’s efforts to strengthen environmental oversight and ensure the quality of studies upon which decisions regarding projects and activities with environmental impacts are based.
This step comes within the framework of the Council’s efforts to regulate environmental work in Khartoum State and promote adherence to environmental requirements and standards, thereby contributing to achieving sustainable development and protecting the environment, as well as public health and safety.
