Khartoum –Sudan

Lieutenant General Shams al-Din Kabashi, member of the Transitional Sovereign Council, reviewed the situation in South Kordofan State, particularly the security, humanitarian, and economic conditions.

During his meeting on Monday with the state’s governor, Lieutenant General Mohamed Abdel Rahim Kafi, he emphasized the government’s commitment to the well-being of the state’s residents and its serious efforts to provide necessary support, especially economic and social assistance, given the circumstances the state has endured as a result of the war waged by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia, and its direct impact on sustainable development.

Kabashi directed the continuation of development projects in the state, particularly focusing on national and strategic roads, most notably the El Obeid-Dilling-Kadugli road.

For his part, the governor of South Kordofan explained in a press statement following the meeting that he briefed the Sovereign Council member on the situation in the state, the existing challenges, and the need of working to rebuild what the war destroyed.

The governor indicated that the meeting discussed all future and strategic projects in the state, noting that the member of the Sovereign Council affirmed the government’s support for all vital projects.
