Energy Minister: Improvement Expected in River Nile Power Supply, with Reduced Outage Hours

Minister of Energy, Engineer and Consultant Al-Mu’tasim Ibrahim Jadallah, announced that an improvement in electricity supply in River Nile State is expected in the coming days, as maintenance and rehabilitation work at the Shendi substation nears completion. The move is expected to help reduce scheduled power outage hours.
During an inspection of work at the substation on Saturday, the minister affirmed that electricity stability is a priority for the ministry. He expected transformers for the Al-Kabashi North Bahri substation to arrive next October, in addition to utilizing the Merowe–Atbara transmission line to further strengthen the stability of electricity supplies in the state.
He also announced plans to rehabilitate and train workers in the electricity sector and establish an electricity office in Al-Matamma Locality, stressing that the ministry’s efforts to rehabilitate the electricity system damaged by the war would continue.
In the oil sector, the minister affirmed the ministry’s commitment to ensuring a regular and sufficient supply of fuel at reasonable prices. He urged the public not to circulate reports that could cause panic or encourage hoarding and profiteering.
For his part, River Nile State Electricity Director Engineer Ammar Mohammed Al-Hassan expected electricity supply to improve next week as a result of reducing the number of outage hours.
