Sudanese Ministry of Digital Transformation: New System for Remote Bank Data Updating
Khartoum – Sudanhorizon
The Sudanese Ministry of Digital Transformation and Communications announced, on Wednesday, a new system, developed in coordination with the Central Bank of Sudan and the banking sector, that links the national digital identity system, “Sudapass,” to bank systems. This will enable banks to verify their customers’ identities and update their data digitally, eliminating the need for branch visits.
A statement issued by the Ministry of Digital Transformation and Communications said, “This step aims to facilitate the fulfillment of customer data update requirements and make them available digitally for citizens inside and outside Sudan. This will make accessing banking services easier and more flexible, and expand the use of digital identity in the banking sector.”
The statement added, “The linking will be implemented gradually, according to each bank’s technical readiness. Each bank will announce the availability of the service to its customers as soon as it is fully prepared.”
