Bank of Khartoum: Bank’s Technical Infrastructure and “Bankak” App Operate According to the Highest International Security Standards
Khartoum — Follow-ups
The Bank of Khartoum has rejected the inaccuracy of reports circulating on some media outlets and social media platforms regarding technical vulnerabilities that led to fraud incidents affecting some bank accounts.
In a press release on Saturday, the BK reaffirmed that its technical infrastructure and the “Bankak” app operate according to the highest international security standards and have not been breached or compromised, nor have depositors’ funds been affected.
The bank clarified that the reported cases of fraud were isolated incidents resulting from individuals gaining access to customer data and contact information and exploiting it fraudulently, entirely outside the bank’s systems.
Bank of Khartoum urged all its customers to exercise extreme caution to protect their accounts and stressed the importance of not authorizing any untrusted entities or individuals to obtain SIM cards or alternative communication methods to replace those linked to bank accounts.
The bank urged its customers not to share personal data, to fully secure their mobile phones, and to immediately contact the bank through its official channels if they notice any unusual activity on their accounts.
It emphasized that the bank’s technical and cybersecurity teams are working around the clock to monitor and ensure the safety of funds and data, stressing that protecting customer rights remains its top operational priority.
