African Union Commission Chairperson Plans Visit to Khartoum Soon

The Chairperson of the African Union Commission, Mahmoud Ali Youssouf, has confirmed his intention to visit Khartoum at the earliest opportunity.

The announcement was made in a statement published by the African Union on the Commission’s official Facebook page on Tuesday, following a meeting between Mahmoud Ali Youssouf and Sudan’s Permanent Representative to the African Union, Ambassador Al-Zein Ibrahim Hussein.

According to the Commission, the meeting discussed the latest political and security developments in Sudan, as well as ongoing efforts to restore stability in the country.

The African Union Commission stated that its Chairperson reaffirmed his plan to visit Khartoum soon, while renewing the African Union’s steadfast support for the Sudanese people and its strong commitment to supporting peace and stability, while safeguarding Sudan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
