Mineral Resources Company Pledges to Address Challenges Facing Mining Waste Processing Companies

The Sudanese Mineral Resources Company Limited has pledged to address the obstacles facing companies processing mining waste (tailings), thereby contributing to the stability of operations, increased production, and maximizing the sector’s contribution to supporting the national economy.
This came during an expanded meeting held on (Thursday) by the company’s Director General, Dr. Mohamed Tahir Omar, at the company’s headquarters in Khartoum. The meeting was attended by the Director General’s assistants, department heads, and representatives of mining waste processing companies, as well as the Director General of the Sudan Gold Refinery Company, Dr. Al-Tayeb Al-Amin Mohamed.
The Director General of Mineral Resources affirmed that the company is committed to providing all forms of support to waste processing companies and working to address the challenges they face, in line with the state’s directives to increase production rates, maximize public revenues, and strengthen the mining sector’s role in supporting the national economy.
For their part, representatives of the waste processing companies commended the efforts led by the Sudanese Mineral Resources Company in launching the Abu Hamad-Atbara road rehabilitation initiative. They emphasized their contribution to the implementation and maintenance of this vital road, given its significant importance in connecting production areas to trading markets, facilitating transportation, and reducing logistical costs, which will positively impact the mining sector and the national economy.
