Ariab Mining Director Nasr al-Din al-Hussein Dismissed

Informed sources told Sudanhorizon that a decision has been issued to relieve Nasr al-Din al-Hussein, the Director General of Ariab Mining Company, from his position, and to appoint his deputy, Dr. Muhammad Tahir Okir, to run the company.

The decision comes at a time when Ariab Company is witnessing rapid developments and widespread attention to its affairs, especially following the recent controversy surrounding several issues related to the company’s operations and agreements.

The appointment of Dr. Muhammad Tahir Okir was welcomed and praised by a number of employees and observers of the mining sector, who described him as one of the most highly regarded professionals within Ariab Company, given his technical and administrative expertise, as well as his familiarity with the company’s operations, stemming from his previous role as Deputy Director General.
