Sudanair, Sudan’s national airline, has received new in-flight catering equipment at Port Sudan International Airport, marking another step in the carrier’s efforts to restore its historic role and contribute to the recovery of Sudan’s civil aviation sector.

A senior company official described the arrival of the catering unit as a significant achievement that strengthens the national carrier’s operational readiness and enhances the quality of services provided to passengers in line with international operating standards.

The official said the development forms part of a broader modernization program being implemented by Sudanair despite the exceptional challenges facing the country. The initiative, he added, reflects the airline’s national role in supporting air transportation and rebuilding Sudan’s aviation institutions on modern foundations, with the aim of restoring confidence in the national carrier and expanding its operational capabilities.

In recent years, Sudanair has also worked to modernize its electronic reservation systems, introduce advanced operational technologies, and implement staff training and professional development programs across its various departments. These initiatives included 15 mandatory training programs, helping improve workforce skills and enhance service quality in line with the requirements of the modern aviation industry.
