CAF Bars 13 Countries, Including Sudan, from Hosting Continental Competitions

Sudanhorizon – Monitoring

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) announced on Friday that it has barred 13 African countries, including Sudan, from hosting CAF competitions due to the absence of stadiums that meet the organization’s required standards.

The affected countries are Sudan, Benin, the Central African Republic, Djibouti, Eritrea, The Gambia, Guinea, Lesotho, Madagascar, São Tomé and Príncipe, Seychelles, Sierra Leone, and Somalia.

According to CAF, the decision was taken because these countries currently lack stadiums that comply with the confederation’s technical and infrastructure requirements for hosting African football tournaments.
