Zadna International Investment Company Limited and the Sudanese Agricultural Bank discussed on Thursday ways to enhance cooperation and a strategic partnership between the two sides to contribute to the development of the agricultural sector, reduce production costs, and support efforts to achieve food security.

Ali Khalifa Askouri, Managing Director of Zadna International Investment Company Limited, met at the company’s headquarters in Khartoum with a delegation from the Sudanese Agricultural Bank headed by Director General Salah Mohamed Abdel Rahim, accompanied by Assistant Director General for Administrative Affairs Siddiq Awad Mohamed, in the presence of Magdi Amin, Director of the Green Revolution Company.

During the meeting, Askouri pointed to the strong relationship between the two institutions, noting that the different nature of their activities does not preclude unifying efforts to serve the agricultural sector.

He announced Zadna’s readiness to enter into strategic partnerships with the Agricultural Bank, which would support the state’s agricultural development initiatives and enhance food security.

For his part, the Director General of the Sudanese Agricultural Bank, Salah , explained that the two institutions share a common goal: serving the agricultural sector.
He stated that the strategic priority is reducing production costs to enable Sudanese products and crops to compete in global markets.
He added that achieving this goal requires increasing production, improving seeds by developing new varieties, expanding the use of modern agricultural technologies, and increasing storage capacity to minimize crop losses.
This will contribute to building a sustainable strategic reserve, in addition to encouraging grain exports and enhancing their contribution to the national economy.
The two sides agreed to form joint committees for coordination and follow-up, and to establish mechanisms for cooperation in areas that serve the agricultural sector and contribute to supporting farmers and achieving agricultural development goals.
