Sudanese Security Committee: Strict Directives on Troops Presence in Khartoum

The Security and State Authority Restoration Committee on Saturday issued a series of decisions, foremost among them a decisive approach to all security violations.
This came during the committee’s eighth meeting, held in Khartoum and chaired by the Minister of Defense, Lieutenant General Hassan Daoud Kabroun. Also in attendance were the Minister of Interior, Lieutenant General Babiker Samra Mustafa; the Governor of Khartoum State, Ahmed Othman Hamza; the Deputy Chief of Staff for Administration, Lieutenant General Abdel-Khair Abdullah Nasser; the Deputy Director General of Police and Inspector General, Lieutenant General Al-Tahir Ali Mohammed Al-Baloula; and other committee members from relevant agencies.
The head of the committee’s media office, Brigadier General Fath Al-Rahman Mohammed Al-Toumi, stated that the meeting discussed several aspects of the committee’s work, including the removal of military formations from Khartoum State, the collection of weapons, securing Khartoum State, and the removal of informal settlements.
He explained that the meeting issued a number of immediate decisions, including decisively addressing all security breaches, whether perpetrated by military or civilian personnel, eliminating negative phenomena, prohibiting the carrying of weapons, and banning the use of motorcycles. The relevant authorities were also directed to conduct security patrols and establish security checkpoints and cordons in all localities of the state, in addition to coordinating and working fully with the Khartoum State Security Committee to prevent any security breaches or actions that could undermine security and public order in the state.
According to the police press office, the relevant committees will immediately begin implementing these directives and decisions, contributing to strengthening security and stability and enforcing the authority of the state in Khartoum State.
