After 5 Million Views and 81,000 Votes: Zain Sudan Announces “Zoul Kheir” Winners and Honors Al-Nau Hospital, Othman

Zain Sudan has announced the results of the third season of its “Zoul Kheir” (Good Person) competition following extensive public engagement during the voting phase, which generated nearly five million views and witnessed intense competition among humanitarian and charitable initiative leaders shortlisted for the award.

The results, based on the number of verified likes received by each story, totaled 81,300 votes. Ms. Sohanda Abdel Wahab secured first place with 36,600 votes. She is the founder of the Sohanda Community Kitchen in Omdurman and was recognized for her efforts in providing food and support to those in need during the war.

Second place went to Abdel Razig Mohamed Ahmed Ibrahim, known as “Rizga,” with 23,400 votes. He is the founder of the “King of Smiles” community kitchen initiative.

Third place was awarded to Dr. Ashraf Elias from Rufaa, who received 9,000 votes in recognition of his role in providing treatment, medicines, and support for the continued operation of the city’s kidney dialysis center.

Mr. Mohamed Ali Khalid, known as Abu Al-Kheir, ranked fourth with 7,200 votes for his support of the “Manal Community Kitchen” initiative.

Fifth place went to Othman Al-Jundi with 6,200 votes. He is the founder of the “Fakkat Reeg” initiative and was recognized for his ongoing contributions in healthcare, clothing assistance, and development projects in Omdurman.

The judging committee also awarded two honorary prizes. The first was presented to Al-Nau Teaching Hospital in recognition of its significant service to the community and the sacrifices made by its staff during the war.

The second honorary award went to Othman Al-Jak for his efforts in mobilizing support for service and development projects in Red Sea State, particularly in Sinkat locality, covering water, education, and health sectors.

The judging panel, chaired by Abdullatif Al-Buni and including Dr. Hamida Ibrahim Al-Nass and Mr. Hamed Othman Hamed, praised the competition’s concept and objectives in promoting values of generosity and recognizing inspiring individuals who have supported their communities during the country’s exceptional circumstances.

Zain allocated cash prizes for the winners, with the first-place recipient receiving eight million Sudanese pounds, the second-place winner six million pounds, and the third-place winner four million pounds. The fourth- and fifth-place winners each received two million Sudanese pounds.

Mr. Saleh Mohamed Ali, Senior Manager of Corporate Communications at Zain, stated that the competition is part of the company’s broader efforts to encourage and recognize humanitarian and volunteer initiatives while highlighting positive role models within society.

He noted that the company received 1,545 nominations featuring inspiring stories of sacrifice, generosity, and community service. He also revealed that Zain is working to expand the initiative to include broader segments of society in the future.

The company further announced plans to produce documentary episodes featuring the five winners. The programs will be broadcast on television channels and digital platforms to showcase their inspiring humanitarian stories and experiences.
