Al-Burhan receives Afwerki and affirms the friendship with Eritrea

Today (Friday), the Chairman of the Transitional Sovereignty Council and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, received Eritrean President Isaias Afwerki at his residence in the Chinese capital, Beijing, on the sidelines of their participation in the China-Africa Forum.
During the meeting, Al-Burhan affirmed that Eritrea is a brotherly country to Sudan, having supported the Sudanese people and hosted many refugees who fled to Eritrea due to the war. He praised the supportive stance of the Eritrean leadership toward Sudan. He expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the Eritrean government and people for their solidarity with Sudan during this critical phase in its history.
The meeting was attended by Sudan’s ministers of foreign affairs and finance and economic planning, while Eritrea was represented by its foreign minister.
