Sudan’s Red Sea Standards Laboratory Passes International Proficiency Tests

The laboratories of the Sudanese Standards and Metrology Organization (SSMO),the Red Sea region, have passed proficiency testing according to international standard ISO 17025, marking a significant step forward in enhancing the quality of technical performance at the laboratories.

SSMO Director General, Ustaza. Rahba Saeed Abdullah, has described this achievement as “reflecting the organization’s commitment to implementing best practices and international standards, which contributes to raising the efficiency of regulatory work, protecting consumers, and supporting the national economy,” the Sudan News Agency (SUNA) reported.

Engineer Al-Walid Mohamed Osman, Director of the SSMO sector in the Red Sea State, explained that this achievement embodies the high level of technical readiness of the laboratories and the competence of their staff. He pointed out that passing the proficiency tests is one of the most prominent indicators of performance quality and adherence to international standards, and contributes to strengthening confidence in the SSMO’s regulatory services.

He added that participation in these tests is part of a comprehensive vision for continuous development, aimed at confirming the efficiency of technical performance and ensuring the sustainability of excellence to reach the highest levels.

He also commended the efforts of the technical staff in the laboratories department, who played a major role in achieving this accomplishment and reinforcing the Authority’s commitment to international standards in the technical field of laboratories.
