The Arab General Conference : Support and Solidarity with the Sudanese People

The Arab General Conference issued a statement today (Saturday) expressing its solidarity and support for the Sudanese people. The statement said that the Conference is following “with grave concern, condemnation, and denunciation the heinous crimes committed by the Rapid Support Forces militia against civilians in Sudan, some of which have been documented in recent international reports, particularly the report of the Human Rights Commission issued on February 13, 2026, and the report of the Independent Fact-Finding Mission issued on February 19, 2026.”
The statement added that the two reports concluded that the Rapid Support Forces militia committed mass killings, ethnic cleansing, and genocide against the Zaghawa and Fur tribes, in addition to using sexual violence as a weapon of war, deliberately starving the population, carrying out extrajudicial executions, and systematically looting property. The independent mission also affirmed that genocidal intent is the only possible conclusion drawn from these systematic acts, especially in light of the statements by the High Commissioner for Human Rights, who held the Rapid Support Forces militia fully responsible for the attack on El Fasher and the massacres committed against unarmed civilians.
The statement added that the General Arab Conference, while condemning in the strongest terms these heinous crimes, extends its deepest condolences and sympathies to the families of the victims and to the entire brotherly Sudanese people. The Conference reiterates its condolences to the families of the victims in El Geneina, Ardamata, and El Fasher, and in central Sudan in Wad Noura, Al-Sariha, and Al-Hilaliya. Condolences are also extended to the Mahamid in Mustariha.
The General National Congress concluded its statement by reaffirming several positions, “stemming from these sincere humanitarian sentiments and its national responsibility towards the crimes being perpetrated against the nation”:

First: The Congress reiterates its principled and unwavering support for Sudan and its noble people during this difficult time, emphasizing that the pure blood of the Sudanese people is the blood of the entire nation, flowing from its veins, and that the wounds inflicted on Sudan are the wounds of the entire nation. Any harm that befalls Sudan strikes at the very heart of the Arab and human conscience.
Second: The Congress calls upon the international community and the Security Council to take immediate action to designate the Rapid Support Forces militia as a terrorist group, prosecute its leaders as war criminals, and end the culture of impunity.
Third: The Congress warns that the continuation of these crimes without deterrence will fuel the cycle of violence and threaten regional and international peace and security.
Fourth: The General Arab Conference, which includes the Arab National Conference, the Islamic National Conference, the General Conference of Arab Parties, the Jerusalem International Foundation, and the Arab Progressive Front, renewed its firm support for Sudan and the Sudanese people in the face of this aggression that has been ongoing for nearly three years, which targets Sudan’s unity, sovereignty, and its resources, and calls on all Arab forces to take urgent action to support Sudan and to pressure Arab governments to support and assist it.
