Minister: Sudan to Pay its Contribution to Italian INGO

Finance Minister Dr. Jibril Ibrahim has pledged to fully pay the Sudanese government’s annual contribution to the Italian NGO “Emergency” and to address the challenges facing its ongoing projects in the country in coordination with relevant authorities.
During his meeting on Tuesday with the head of the organization at the government ministries complex, the minister emphasized the importance of the organization’s role in providing healthcare to war victims and offering free training to medical personnel in the country.
He commended the Italian organization’s continuous efforts in providing high-quality, free medical and surgical care to Sudanese citizens since 2003, in full coordination with the federal and state ministries of health.
For her part, the head of the organization, Rosa Micho, explained that her visit to the country aimed to follow up on the progress of the organization’s projects in Sudan and the challenges they face.
She indicated that these projects include pediatric centers in Port Sudan and Nyala, the “Peace” Center for Cardiac Surgery in Khartoum, and a pediatric clinic in the Mayo area of Khartoum.
Misho revealed the opening of clinics for heart patients in the cities of Kassala, Al-Qadarif, and Atbara, in addition to expanding the organization’s activity to include providing various surgical and therapeutic services to citizens in general.
