UAE Participates in Ethiopia’s Air Force Anniversary Celebrations, with Latest Aircrafts

The United Arab Emirates has participated with a significant air force presence in the celebrations held by Ethiopia on Saturday to mark 90th anniversary of the Ethiopian Air Force.
The celebrations featured an exceptional air show, reflecting the advanced level of military cooperation between the two countries.
According to Russia Today Arabic, the display included aircraft from the UAE Air Force, among them the Dassault Mirage 2000, a French-made multirole fighter jet, and the Boeing AH-64 Apache, an American-made attack helicopter equipped with advanced surveillance systems and guided missiles.
The UAE’s participation in the Ethiopian celebrations, coinciding with the air show, included the presence of an official military delegation. Its fighter jets also performed precise and dazzling aerial maneuvers before large crowds in the skies above the capital, Addis Ababa.
Ethiopian officials praised the UAE’s participation, considering it an expression of the depth of the strategic partnership between Abu Dhabi and Addis Ababa. The UAE Armed Forces confirmed that this participation comes within the framework of the ongoing and growing military cooperation between the two countries.
The UAE Ministry of Defense announced that this participation came in response to an invitation from the Ethiopian Air Force, embodying the strong relations and strategic partnership between the UAE and Ethiopia, and reflecting the Ministry of Defense’s commitment to supporting and strengthening military and defense cooperation between the two sides.
The Ministry emphasized that its participation in this celebration affirms the strength and solidity of the long-standing historical relations between the two friendly countries, based on shared values, visions, and aspirations for further progress and prosperity.
Ethiopia celebrated the 90th anniversary of its Air Force with events under the theme “Black Lion Air.” The Ethiopian Air Force was officially established in 1935 and is one of the oldest air forces in Africa. It has witnessed significant development in recent years with the support of international partners, particularly the United Arab Emirates.
The UAE is a key strategic partner for Ethiopia in the military and security fields. The two countries have signed several defense cooperation agreements since 2018, encompassing joint training, arms supplies, and logistical support.
According to Ethiopian media, the UAE has significantly contributed to developing the capabilities of the Ethiopian Air Force by supplying advanced training aircraft and providing technical support.
