Police: Khartoum Fully Secured, Decline in Crime Rates

Khartoum – Sudanhorizon

Khartoum State Police have confirmed that emergency response services now cover the entire state, placing it under full security control through the deployment of patrols and checkpoints along major roads.

The Director of the Public Affairs Department, Major General Issam Mahjoub, said that Khartoum is under complete security control and that the police are continuously developing control and monitoring systems. He stressed that Khartoum is enjoying a high level of security and that crime reports are steadily declining.

In a press briefing on Tuesday, Mahjoub added that the police have covered all areas previously believed to have security vulnerabilities. He noted that, in coordination with other security agencies, the police have shut down all recruitment offices that had spread recently, emphasizing that anyone who violates the law will be held accountable under the law.

For his part, the Director of the Emergency Police Department, Brigadier Taj El-Din Mohammed, explained that the department serves as a primary tool and early-warning mechanism for detecting any security threats that may affect society. He pointed out that there has been a noticeable change in the nature of reports after the war, with an increase in cases related to hazardous materials and fires, due to the spread of vegetation and the abandonment of homes by residents.
