Voluntary Return Committee Continues Facilitating Returnees from Egypt

The Sudanese Voluntary Return Committee for citizens wishing to go back to their homeland from Egypt continued its “Return to Sudan” trips, completing the departure of 25 buses, Thursday , from the Abdeen area of Cairo and the Matbaa area of Giza, carrying 1,250 passengers. The trips were sponsored by the Federal Zakat Bureau.
The Sudan News Agency quoted Dr. Al-Amin Ali Abdel Qader, head of the Return to Sudan Committee at the Zakat Bureau, speaking from the bus departure point in Giza, as saying that the process of facilitating the return of Sudanese citizens through the Bureau is ongoing via buses, trains, and sea.
He urged travelers to adhere to the baggage allowance to avoid the obstacles that accompany overcrowding, emphasizing the importance of following the Committee’s instructions by registering on the dedicated return website.
For his part, Professor Montaser Osman Omar, Executive Secretary and Director of Operations for the Hope Committee for Voluntary Return, affirmed that the return of Sudanese citizens to their country is contingent upon the reconstruction of essential public services such as electricity, water, market oversight, and exchange rate control. He added that the committee has been keen to organize trips to Sudan to support the reconstruction and stabilization program and to embody the spirit of victory, noting a significant increase in the number of returnees.
The Deputy Chair of the Return Transportation Committee, Professor Noha Mohamed Ibrahim, expressed gratitude to the Egyptian government and people for their leading role in sheltering Sudanese affected by the war. She commended the Zakat Bureau for its support of Sudanese citizens affected by the war in several countries and thanked the Chairman of the Hope Committee for Voluntary Return, Engineer Mohamed Wadaa, for his pioneering role in mobilizing support to facilitate the return process. She stated that the committee has allocated comfortable seating for people with disabilities and has a medical team accompanying them to provide emergency care and other necessary services.
