Urgent Measures to Address Water Scarcity in Khartoum State

Khartoum – Sudanhorizon

The Khartoum State Water Corporation apologized to citizens in areas affected by the water shortages during the past few days.

The Director General of the Khartoum State Water Corporation, Engineer Mohamed Ali Al-Ajab, explained that the corporation is taking urgent measures to address the scarcity and shortage of water supply in several areas.

He attributed the scarcity to the power outage in Khartoum State the day before yesterday, as a result of the terrorist attack on the main power station in Merowe.

The Director General of the Corporation said in a press statement published on Wednesday, reviewed by Sudanhorizon, that the corporation intervened by operating wells to compensate for the shortage in supply, in addition to introducing tankers in other areas, adding that these treatments were required by the necessity of the situation and until the return of electricity and the operation of the Nile stations.
