The New Sudanese PM: I’m a Servant of the People

Port Sudan – Sudanhorizon

Transitional Prime Minister Dr. Kamil Idris affirmed that he will work to achieve sustainable development for the citizens of Sudan in the areas of health, education, electricity, water, and security, while promoting justice, the rule of law, combating corruption and poverty, and rebuilding what was destroyed by the war.

In his first address to the Sudanese people from Port Sudan, on Sunday, Idris added that he will work to enforce the rule of law and eliminate the rebellion, noting that the battle for dignity is an existential one.

Kamil expressed his awareness of the magnitude of the responsibility placed on his shoulders, pledging to work with all sincerity to enforce justice, the rule of law, and combat corruption and poverty. He indicated that he aims to revive the economy and mobilize domestic resources to increase exports, in addition to rebuilding and restructuring the Sudanese state.

Idris affirmed that he will work to encourage inclusive Sudanese-Sudanese dialogue. He added that he will maintain an equal distance from Sudanese forces and will eliminate this distance from the citizen, who stated that he does not want to be a ruler of the people, but rather a servant ruled by the people.
