The National Umma Party Relieves Burma and Appoints Al Doma as Party Chairman

Port Sudan – Sudanhorizon

The National Umma Party has announced that Fadlalla Burma Nasser will be relieved from his post as party chairman and replaced by Mohamed Abdullah Al Doma, the new party chairman.
A statement by the National Umma Party’s presidency, viewed by the “Sudanhorizon” news website, said that the party presidency has ended the assignment of Major General Eng. Fadlallah Burma Nasser as head the party and assigned Mohamed Abdullah Al-Doma as Chairman, vested with the powers of the elected Chair, to exercise those powers through the presidency.
The statement added that the presidency had named Al-Doma as acting Chairman last year, and indicated that the party’s presidency bases its decision on the constitutional and organizational grounds, as well as on a series of violations committed by Burma, most recent of which was his participation in the Nairobi conference and signing the Sudan Constituent Charter.
The party said this charter contravenes the National Umma party’s principles in several points, most notably the text on secularism and self-determination.
The statement stressed that the National Umma Party is an institutional party, and its participation in any platform or alliance is only approved via institutional authorization. Any participation without such authorization is rejected, and its author is held accountable.
