Supreme Committee for Strengthening Relations with China Begins its Work

The Supreme Committee for Strengthening Cooperation Relations between Sudan and the People’s Republic of China has begun implementing its tasks by identifying areas of joint cooperation and setting policies and procedures for strengthening and developing cooperation and partnership between the two countries in a way that serves bilateral interests and develops strategic relations between them.

The Supreme Committee – headed by the Minister of Finance and Economic Planning, Dr. Jibril Ibrahim, in its first meeting at the ministry today, with the participation of all relevant ministries and the Bank of Sudan – began implementing the outcomes of the participation of the Chairman of the Sovereignty Council in the China-Africa Cooperation Forum Summit held in China from September 3 to 6, by identifying areas at the political, economic and security levels, with the aim of benefiting from the funding allocated by China to African countries in the summit’s work in the amount of $ 50 billion.

A technical committee headed by the Undersecretary of Planning at the Ministry of Finance, Dr. Muhammad Bashar, and the membership of ministries and government units was assigned to prepare projects in the areas of infrastructure and basic services, focusing on the sectors of agriculture, water, health, industry, energy, electricity, roads, bridges, railways, banking, defense and security cooperation, and then submitting them to the Supreme Committee for approval and follow-up on their implementation.
