Sudan’s U-20 national team was crowned champion of the Council for East and Central Africa Football Associations (CECAFA) tournament. They achieved this victory on Thursday in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, after defeating the host nation in a thrilling match. Regulation time ended in a goalless draw, and extra time concluded with a 1–1 tie, leading to a penalty shootout that Sudan won 4–3.
Both teams had already qualified for the African Cup of Nations, scheduled to begin on the 27th of this month in Ghana.
