Sudanese Olympic Committee Discusses Preparations for the Los Angeles Olympics

The Executive Office of the Sudanese Olympic Committee on Thursday, held its first meeting since the war at the Committee’s headquarters in the International Garden in Khartoum. The meeting was chaired by the First Vice President of the Committee, Khalid Abdullah Hamad, and attended by the Secretary General, Imad Farouk, members of the Executive Office, and the Minister of Youth and Sports, Ahmed Adam.
The meeting discussed several key issues that represent priorities for the coming period, most notably the reconstruction file, in addition to arrangements for early preparations for the 2028 Summer Olympic Games in Los Angeles, USA.
The meeting also addressed the “Olympics Africa” project and its three centers, reviewing their status and appointing new directors, as this file falls directly under the First Vice President of the Committee.
Hamad emphasized the importance of the current phase, stressing the need to develop practical plans and programs that contribute to rehabilitating the sports and Olympic infrastructure, especially after the extensive damage inflicted on sports institutions as a result of the war. The First Deputy revealed the formation of several specialized committees to oversee reconstruction projects and develop the necessary implementation plans to achieve the desired goals in the coming period.
