Sudanese National Team Prepares to Face Tanzania on Sunday

The technical director of the Sudanese national football team “The Falcons of Jediane”, Ghanaian James Kwesi Appiah, summoned 21 players from the top clubs Al-Hilal and Al-Merreikh to join the list participating against Tanzania, in the African Nations Championship qualifiers for local players on October 27 and November 3.

The list included 12 players from Al-Merreikh, including veteran Al-Merreikh captain Amir Kamal, and 9 from Al-Hilal, including Al-Shabab striker Al-Othaimeen.

The Falcons of Jediane are preparing to face Tanzania on Sunday, October 27, at Sheikha Bedia Stadium in Nouakchott, and the winner of the two teams will play against the winner of Ethiopia Vs. Eritrea.

Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania will host the tournament finals from February 1 to 28, 2025

On Thursday, the FIFA website celebrated the great achievement of the Sudanese national football team by rising 10 places in the ranking of teams from the current month of October, considering that this the biggest leap among international teams in the month.

The Sudanese team advanced to the 110th place after being in the 120th place last September. The Argentine team topped the world ranking, while the Moroccan team maintained its ranking at the top of the African teams.

Sudan defeated Ghana by two goals at the Martyrs of Benina Stadium in Benghazi and tied with it at its stadium and among its fans in Accra.

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) nominated Sudan among the national teams competing for the title of the best team in Africa for the year 2024 and nominated the technical director Kwesi Appiah to compete for the best coach for the year 2024, along with Al-Hilal coach Florent Abebegui.
