Sudanese Consultations Launched with the African Union Mechanism in Preparations for Dialogue

Addis Ababa –Sudanhorizon

Preliminary meetings for the Sudanese-Sudanese dialogue process have started in the Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa, Wednesday, under the auspices of the African Union mechanism.

According to sources who spoke to Sudanhorizon from inside the meeting, the enounter is discussing how to launch a political process to resolve the country’s crisis.

The African Union’s high-level mechanism is discussing with two separate delegations of political and civil forces the steps, procedures and questions to be tackled by the dialogue, and how to prepare for that process.

Sudanhorizon has noted that the first meeting included the political and civil forces that submitted their national vision to the President of the Sudanese Sovereign Council, Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, while a second meeting is being held with representatives of political forces within an alliance headed by Abdullah Hamdok, who recently separated from the political bloc called “Taggadum”.
The African Union had held a consultation session with political forces in July, last year, boycotted by the Taggadum Group, and the invitation to that meeting was not all inclusive.
