The Sudanese Army is on the verge of fully reclaiming control over Khartoum North, one of the capital’s three main cities. According to field sources speaking to Sudanhorizon, the Sudanese Armed Forces, along with the Counter-Terrorism Unit of the General Intelligence Service, special support groups, and joint forces from armed struggle movements, have advanced into Al-Shaabiya neighbourhoods in the city centre and Danagla in the south. They have also secured Shambat Bridge, which connects Khartoum North to Omdurman.

These military developments follow the army’s full control over the oil refinery north of Khartoum North, the reopening of the main road to the Nile River State, and the linking of military units in Kadro, Hatab, Signal, and Karari with the General Command in Khartoum.

Sources from Sudanhorizon report that the army is continuing its mission by securing Hilla Khujali and Hilla Hamad in Khartoum North, located north of the Presidential Palace on the northern bank of the Nile River.

Military analysts suggest that capturing Hilla Hamad would enable the army to tighten its grip on the Presidential Palace in Khartoum, following its advances along the Nile Street axis.
